Usage
Ask. Calculate. Keep going.
Tally is a flexible scratchpad for arithmetic, conversions, dates, geometry, live data, and the small decisions that come up every day.
Write calculations naturally
Use everyday language alongside symbols, functions, parentheses, constants, percentages, arrays, and scientific notation. Tally follows the question, not a rigid formula.
Convert everyday units
Convert length, mass, temperature, time, volume, area, speed, pressure, digital storage, and magnitudes using full names, abbreviations, or common shorthand.
Measure shapes and geometry
Find volume, area, surface area, and circumference for common shapes. Use named parameters, positional values, diameter input, or squared and cubed shorthand.
Plan dates and time zones
Add or subtract days, weeks, months, years, and workdays; compare dates; save dates as variables; and convert times between cities.
Handle money and markets
Convert currencies with live exchange rates, combine currency values, look up current stock prices, inspect open/high/low/close values, and compare symbols.
Keep a running workspace
Each line becomes its own readable row. Name values, reuse them later, reference the previous result with prev, and total or average earlier numeric results.
Use statistics and smart hints
Ask for averages, medians, midpoints, random numbers, rounding, signs, or scientific notation. When a command needs more values, a trailing space shows the next expected inputs without changing your text.
Check weather and display units
Ask for current conditions in a named location or type Weather to use your location. Tally also understands pixels-per-inch and em bases alongside physical measurements.
Make it yours
Choose light, dark, or automatic appearance and set precision from zero to five decimal places. Preferences stay on your device. Press Enter for the next row, C C C to clear, X X to delete the current row, or Ctrl C to copy the current line.
